Martinborough Wine Village

If you’re interested in food and wine, there’s nothing better than making that special connection between what you are eating and drinking and its place in the world. Where it came from and how its origins shaped the colours, flavours and textures you are enjoying in the glass. So visiting a vineyard, seeing the vines at all stages of growth, talking with enthusiastic staff about the intricacies of each vintage –  perfect!

Martinborough is Wairarapa Wine Country’s main visitor attraction, with its wineries, cafes, accommodation and activities.

Just over an hour from Wellington by car, there is also a daily train service (get off at Featherston Station) with a connecting bus service to Martinborough.

Bikes, including tandems and Indi Bikes for four are an ideal way of getting around Martinborough’s wide flat streets.
